The Secretariat
The Secretariat comprises the Executive Secretary, Administrative Officer/Accountant and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, appointed by the Executive Committee and responsible for the day to day running of the affairs of BAMVITA.

Project Committees
The Executive Committee, from time to time, establishes project committees and assigns them specific tasks for a given period, on completions of which the EC dissolves them or alters their terms of reference. In the process of executing their assigned tasks, the project committees are answerable to the Executive Secretary.

Networking
The Book Development Council of Tanzania is a member of the East Africa Book Development Association (EABDA) and has close contacts with its counterparts; National Book Development Council of Kenya (NBDC-K), The National Book Trust of Uganda (NABOTU). It has also contacts with other bodies in Africa and other parts of the world that deal with production, publishing and distribution of books. Also the Book Development Council of Tanzania, Together with similar book development bodies in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Malawi, Mali, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia and Uganda, is participating in the Basic Learning Materials initiative, by DANIDA and UNESCO.
